[unpaid/sample] The arrival of ‘fresh’ fragrance versions indicates the approaching end of winter. Although spring is still a little way off, each day brings us closer. CHANEL Chance was first introduced in 2002 and has a perpetually new feel to it. However, the most intriguing aspect for me is this delightful set of three hand creams, each 20ml in size, making it a handbag-friendly set with a variation of fragrance for each hand cream.
The pink tube contains Chance, the pistachio tube contains Eau Fraiche, and the cream tube contains Eau Tendre, allowing you to experience all the variations of the fragrance.
Eau Fraiche has an amplified citron scent, Eau Tendre leads with jasmine, and Chance has a more spicy floral aroma. CHANEL hand cream formulas are of high quality – I keep one by my bed, although I only remember to use it occasionally. They are notable for being non-greasy and are quickly absorbed. The formula contains glycerin, jojoba esters, rosa centifolia, iris, licorice root, and panthenol, providing thorough hydration and protection.

For 2024, CHANEL Chance Eau Fraiche has been reformulated by Olivier Polge to create a more intense version of the original, maintaining the ‘fresh’ quality while appearing deeper and bolder. I have been wearing it over the weekend and indeed noticed a fresh, sweet trail coupled with warmth and depth from the jasmine and teak notes.
I detect hints of the iconic powdery notes in this version, albeit in a subtle manner. It’s intriguing to consider the meticulous process of creating a fragrance that is slightly different from the original, where enthusiasts can discern the variation without it being overly distracting.
