[purchase/affiliate] I had the chance to try on this white denim jacket at H&M, and it’s a versatile option to pair with any dress. You can even wear white trainers with it for a great look. The pictures were taken in the changing rooms while wearing my scruffy yoga outfit :-(.
The jacket hits at just the right point to be worn with a dress, leaving enough of the dress showing without overwhelming the outfit. I found that the medium size was the right fit for me, as the large size was too big. It sits just below my waist (I’m 5ft 3), providing a perfect proportion for me and leaving a long flow of dress. The fabric isn’t super soft, but with wear it will soften down, and it will need plenty of washing as all white things do. Additionally, it features a slight dropped shoulder, giving it a less structured and restrictive feel than a traditional denim jacket, which works well with its boxy cut.
It’s a very versatile piece for a denim jacket, serving as the modern version of a cardi – something to throw on over anything. Plus, white is a great light bringer and can make your complexion glow more. I already have a green dress and a black dress that I plan to pair with this jacket, and I think it would also go well with anything floral or geometric. I purchased this lovely find from TKMaxx for £16.99, and I’m very satisfied with it. It has a slightly hippyish design with wild strawberries in the pattern of stars and flowers. The neckline suits me well, and I keep the ties undone when wearing it with my bootcut jeans. Interestingly, I found that the size 14 was the perfect fit for me, even though it appeared small. The sleeves cover the tops of my arms, the elastic isn’t too tight, and the slight pleats make it hang beautifully.
